We teach children, so we handle family information with care. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. Who we are

Super Easy is the controller of your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What we collect
When you book lessons: your name and email address (as parent or guardian), your child's first name, and, if you fill them in, your child's age, where you live, notes about level or goals, and a discount code. We also record your browser's time zone so we can plan lessons at the right time. Payment is handled by Stripe: we see that a payment was made, but we never see your full card or bank details.
In the student portal: your email address (to send you a login link), your lesson balance, the lessons you request and their times.
When you contact us: your name, email address and message, or the messages you send us on WhatsApp.
During and after lessons: lessons take place on Zoom. After each lesson we send lesson notes (a document or PDF), usually by WhatsApp. We keep notes on your child's progress so we can plan the next lessons.
When you visit the website: see section 7 (cookies and statistics).
3. Why we use it
- To provide the lessons you booked: planning, teaching, lesson notes, the student portal, booking confirmations and invoices (performance of a contract).
- To meet legal obligations: keeping invoices and payment records for the tax authorities (legal obligation).
- To answer your questions and to understand how the website is used so we can improve it (legitimate interest).
- Photos and videos: we only use photos or videos of your child, for example on our website or Instagram, if you have given permission. You can withdraw that permission at any time (consent).
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Children
Our students are aged 3 to 18. Bookings are made by a parent or guardian, and we only ask for the information about the child that we need to teach well. If you would like us to correct or remove information about your child, just let us know.
5. Who helps us
Our teachers can see the information they need to teach your child, such as first name, level and lesson times. We also work with a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, only for these purposes:
- online payments
- website hosting, security and the database behind bookings, the student portal and messages
- sending and receiving email
- video calls for online lessons
- messages and lesson notes, if you contact us via WhatsApp
- website statistics
Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. In those cases the transfer is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. If you would like to know which providers we use, just ask us.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account, lesson history and lesson notes: up to 2 years after the last lesson.
- Invoices and payment records: 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law.
- Messages that do not lead to a booking: up to 2 years.
7. Cookies and statistics
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It places analytics cookies. We use it only for statistics, not for advertising or personalised ads.
We also count page visits ourselves, without cookies. For this we store the page, the website you came from and your country. We do not store your IP address: it is only used to make an anonymous daily count.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website keeps working without them.
8. Your rights
You have the right to see the personal data we hold about you and your child, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or limit its use, to receive a copy, and to withdraw consent you have given. Send your request to hello@marinachinese.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or with the authority in your own country.
9. Security
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). You log in to the student portal with a personal link sent to your email address, so no password is stored. Only we and our teachers have access to student information.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
